We need to collect a small amount of data about you, such as your name, address, email address, contact telephone numbers, vehicle registration number and payment details. We promise to collect, process, and store your data safely and securely and will ensure that other businesses we work with are just as careful with your data.
As well as using your personal data to provide the service you have booked, we may use the contact details you share with us to let you know about any changes which may affect your booking, or other things that might have an impact on your travel plans, such as road closures.
If you opt to receive email marketing from us, we will let you know about discounts and special offers and keep you up to date with what’s new.
You have control over your data and you can update your preferences at any time.
If you would like to stop receiving marketing from us, you can amend your preferences at any time in your MyAPH account or use the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of our emails. You can also email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with the header “Unsubscribe”.
If the data we hold about you is wrong please email us at email@example.com with the header “Customer Data” and we’ll put it right.
When we refer to “personal data” we mean the information about you that allows us to identify you, this may be directly or in combination with other information we may have.
Your personal data includes for example your name, contact details, information relating to your vehicle (model and vehicle registration number), and information about how you use our website.
We collect personal data from you when you make a booking with us, use our website, use our services or contact us. We may also receive data from our suppliers who provide services to you on our behalf (when you provide feedback on our products, or use the parking services of another company booked through APH for example). We may also receive limited data from our partners when you purchase their travel related products from our website or through our call centre.
We may collect the following categories of information about you when you make an enquiry, make or manage a booking on our website or through our call centre, when contacting our customer services team, when you create an account on our website, when you provide feedback, when you take part in competitions or arrive at one of our car parks:
Sensitive personal data
When we collect information from you in the course of providing services to you, we may also collect information that reveals something about your physical or mental health (or the physical or mental health of someone travelling with you). Such information is considered “sensitive personal data”. We only collect this information when you have provided it when making a specific request for access to particular facilities or services, in which case explicit consent for us to collect and use it is deemed to have been given. Such requests (preference for a blue badge parking space for example) will then be shared with the company providing the service.
We use your personal data in the following instances
We are committed to taking appropriate organisational and technical measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised or unlawful processing and accidental loss, destruction or damage.
All payments made on our website are encrypted using SSL technology. The locked padlock icon in your browser window indicates that our site is secure. Our site also uses credit card tokenization, which is an additional security measure designed to protect your card details. This means that we don’t actually store your credit card details on our system, and instead use a ‘token’ (a unique randomly-generated reference number) issued to us which allows us to process your payment without your card details being transferred or stored.
